Do I need to know how to canoe?
Nope! Our experienced guideds are master canoeists! Before your tour begins your Guide will teach you the ins and outs of canoeing and answer any questions on the tip of your tounge!
Who is the guide?
Here at Algonquin Park Canoe Tours we hand pick our team from the bakers dozen! Our guides have grown up canoeing in Algonquin and can boats over 25 years between them of on trip time!
From wildlife identification to the history of Algonquin to even the formation of the park in geological time! Our guides know it all!
All our guides are Training in Wilderness first aid and CPR. They carry a first aid kit at all times and have a satilight phone on there persons.
What do i need to bring?
You will be sent a list of items to bring based on the trip you select.
If you selected Day Tour we recommend 1.5 Liters of water, Hat, Rain clothing, Sun and bug Spray.
If you Selected a multi-day tour then we Strongly encourage Water Bottle, Hat, Rain coat, Rain pants, Sun Screen, Bug Spray, Medication you require, EpiPen if required. (we carry one as well)
What is my role on trip?
Help Paddle the canoe to campsite, enjoy the sroundings and dont forget to make a smore!
Can I come by myself?
Of course! Lots of solo Travels come on our trips! Its a great opportunity to make some life long friends!
Who else is on my trip?
It might be couples, Small groups of familys and solo travels. We do our best to group like to like. So familys will likely also have another family group with them and so on.
What kind of experience do I need?
Just a positive attitude and a readiness to learn something new! Our tours cover all the information your need to be on trip! No experience required.
What level of fitness do I need?
We recommend being able to walk slowly for 4 hours. This is our guide. Canoeing is generally a peaceful activity. However if you have back injuries such as a dislocated disk it is possible for this to become worse from canoeing. We recommend consulting a doctor if you have such concerns.
What meals do we get?
Yummies! All our trips the first meal is Sandwiches from a bakery for lunch. Dinner might range from spaghetti Bolognese to chicken stir fry! Just because we’re camping doesnt mean we dont eat well!
Veggie and vegan options? Yes
Yes. During your booking process you will have the option to select your dietary requirements. For allergies and intolerances please contact us.
Showering?
We provide bio degradable soap for lake bathing!
Sleeping?
We sleep in Professional Level Tents, with sleeping pads and sleeping bags. All our gear is new. You can choose between sleeping in a private tent or a group tent for your family. Tents can only be shared by groups booking together.

Campsite
You will arrive at Campsite via canoe. Campsite in Algonquin Park is a way to get close to nature. It is your home while in the park so please respect it.
Your campsite will have a fire place with seating around the fire. We roast marshmallows in the night and go for star light canoes. During this activity you can see stars reflected in the lake – creating the affect of floating in star light. 🙂
All campsites have areas for hanging out in a hamic and access to the lake for that sunrise swim or sunset paddle!
You will find when leaving your campsite that you will never forget it. We say here that you never forget your first.
Can I bring Alcohol
On day tours it is prohibited.
On multi-day camping trips -Yes! Please keep in mind we are camping and to be safe. Your Guide reserves the right to take alcohol off of you if it is not being enjoyed safely.
Payment and cancelation policy?
Over 1 month out you will receive a full refund less an admin fee of 65 dollars.
Less than 1 month-3 Weeks 60 percent refund
3 weeks and under no refund can be given.
Transfers to later dates are available due to unexpected circumstances. We will do our best to make sure you have a chance to see Algonquin!
We recommend getting travel insurance. Please understand someone else could of taken your booking if you cancelled in advance.
